I’m Grace Tinkler, an interior design student at Huddersfield University. I love creating spaces that transform into functional and aesthetically pleasing environments. My work blends creativity, functionality, and a keen eye for detail in design. I take inspiration from the culture and stories a space can communicate.

Social Media Lead

As a Social Media representative, collaborate with the teams and Course committee, attend meetings, and share ideas. Engage with design industry employers, create and edit social media posts, and promote courses and student activities. Organize schedules, plan events, and coordinate arrangements using marketing and funding skills.

The work involves model making and creating 2D and 3D drawings for design projects. Key tasks include concept development, design research, and site assessments. Quality assurance requires collecting material samples, and proficiency in digital tools like AutoCAD and SketchUp is essential. Effective communication of ideas and depends on adhering to briefs, understanding, audience needs, and having strong writing and presentation skills.

Digital Surface Designer

I create custom handmade and digital prints based on customer preferences and market trends. I promote my designs via social media, online marketplaces, and a personal website while managing an online store. I developed a cohesive brand identity to attract and retain customers and balanced multiple projects using my design software like Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Canva, Procreate. I also use Instagram and Pinterest for marketing and audience engagement.

Industry Experience

I collaborated with colleagues in their office, enhancing my proficiency in SketchUp skills. I conducted multiple site visits, including those at construction sites in London’s Canary Wharf and participated in project meetings led by the project manager. I contributed to the final design details at a new hospitality premises in Nottingham.
